Services of The Way Station
Helping us to help others help themselves
We're here to help! We care about you and your family. The Way Station has resources to meet basic needs. All of our programming is centered on our Five Steps. The Steps include:
Step 1: CONTACT: We want to be accessible to those in need in a manner that alleviates anxiety and makes one feel "at home".
Step 2: MEET FELT NEEDS: The Way Station seeks to provide immediate solutions to issues faced by those living in poverty. Felt needs include the need for food, clothing and assistance with shelter.
Step 3: MEET UNDERLYING NEEDS: There is an underlying need for most felt needs. Underlying needs include addiction, unemployment, abuse, poverty and hopelessness, to name a few.
Step 4: CONVERSION TO JESUS CHRIST: A relationship with Jesus is necessary for true peace and HOPE. Our staff work to reflect the love of Christ in a non-threatening, non-preaching manner - encouraging our customers to seek and find the Truth.
Step 5: TRANSFER TO AN AREA BODY OF BELIEVERS: The Way Station is not a church and cannot minister to the on-going spiritual needs in a way that a church body can. The Way Station staff can help to find nurturing and accepting church bodies for those desiring such.
