Social Business Ventures: Small Business Ownership
From the Classroom to the Boardroom

Social Business Ventures

Have you dreamed of being your own boss?

Social Business Ventures was created to train Work Employment Program (WEP) participants, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients and those underserved, low-income individuals to become a home based business owner. Each class member receives weekly classroom instruction, training materials one-on one business development experience.

The Shoppe Along the Way, Riverock Candles and Way To Go Signs provide hands on training opportunities for those interested. The Way Station is able to provide limited funds, through a grant received from the United States Department of Agriculture.

Graduates of the Social Business Ventures Program have the necessary skills and knowledge to start their own enterprise along with the support from other classmates to do so. Business ownership can be a source of pride and tremendous self-esteem for those with an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be independent.

For more information or to enroll in the Social Business Ventures program, please contact Becky Fisher at 330-482-5072.
